Been Awhile Since I’ve Posted

Dec-29-2006 By Tish

Wow I didn’t realize I’ve been ‘neglecting’ my posting for so long.  Guess time just got away from me.

Christmas was great!  I was so blessed!!!!  Caleb did very well with not getting the couple main BIG items that he wanted.  He actually did better than I thought he would.

I’m trying to get back into the swing of ‘working’ again after taking a few days off over Christmas and then I’m taking New Years Eve & New Year’s Day off.  It’s funny because I’ve been wanting a break but then I get one and I was bored without my computer and my work…LOL!

I’m looking forward to 2007 and the personal, spiritual and financial goals that I have in mind.  Now it’s just a matter of making an action plan and then sticking to it so that I can reach the goals I want to!

Christmas and My 8 Year Old Son

Dec-18-2006 By Tish

I love Christmas and always have but when I became a Christian back in 2001 Christmas took on a whole new meaning to me.  Although Christmas is such a special time of year it saddens me how commercialized it has become, taking away from the real reason of Christmas.

I’m trying to teach my son that Christmas is all about Jesus’s birth and although I believe he understands that, he is 8 and very caught up in the commercialized part of it.  He writes a pretty big list every year and unfortunately because of getting everything he has wanted in the past years he expects that every year.

As a single mom with an 8 year old that is into video games & electronics now I can’t afford most things on his list this year.  What saddens me is that his dad can and will buy the more expensive things.  Part of me is happy that his dad is even willing to spend that kind of money on him because some dads don’t….but the other part of me has to deal with the jealousy that I sometimes find myself feeling towards his dad and him being able to provide all the expensive “fun & games” that Caleb wants.  (anyways, that’s a whole different post…lol).

Next year I’m going to teach Caleb about how Christmas really is about Jesus and giving not receiving.  I am going to check into doing some volunteering in the community somewhere where Caleb can help too.  If I’m financially able I would love for Caleb and I to adopt a single mom family and provide gifts & food to that family.  I really want Caleb to understand how blessed we truly are and how important it is to not expect to receive all the time but to give too!

I can’t believe that there are only 13 days left until Christmas.  It just doesn’t seem possible that Christmas is almost here.  How does time slip away so fast?  And to think that 2007 is only a few more days away than Christmas.  Wow!

I had a $1000.00 month goal for my VA business for 2006 so I’m working on setting some business goals for 2007.  Besides business goals I have personal goals I’m working on also.

The biggest goal (personal) I’m working on is learning who I am and learning to love myself for who I am and who God created me to be.  Growing in my faith is also really important to me.  Without God I wouldn’t be where I am at today in business and life.

I’m planning on working on my podcast some this week - we’ll see where I get with that ;-)  I’ve planned to do that for sometime now and as I’ve said before I just push it aside when I get busy and don’t allow myself time to work on it.  I’m really trying to not push it aside because I just want to get it up and going and get into the flow of producing a show every week!

I’ve Got Podcast Passion Now

Dec-6-2006 By Tish

I just finished with my last class tonight of Kelly McCausey’s Podcasting Intensive (I highly recommend this class!).  I’ve been neglecting the planning stages of my podcast lately becuase I’ve been so busy with my VA work.  But I’ve got the fever for the flavor of The Tishia Lee show again!

I’m excited again about the idea of getting my podcast up and running.  I’m going to start scheduling time each week to devote to the finishing stages/planning stages whatever you would like to call it :-)  I need to take some time and start working on my ‘pre launch’ show so I can get that up on my site.
