“Ouch”

“Ouch”

“Ouch”

“Ouch”

Those are the only words that I can mumble right now!  Today was my first day taking an Aerobics class - well actually it’s not an aerobics class it’s called muscles and more and you use weights, a resistance band and a step aerobics platform.

“Oh my gosh”

The class is 60 minutes long & at the end you do some SERIOUS ab work!  By the time 60 minutes was up I felt like jello!  My legs and arms & stomach were so weak and shaky and jittery feeling!

At one point in time during the class I didn’t think I was going to be able to get up off the floor because my arms and legs were so weak & sore that it took all I had to muster up the energy to get my buns up off the floor…..LOL!  I can only imagine what kind of sight that had to of been ;-)

I know it will get easier and easier but holy jumping toledo do I hurt!!!!  Working out at Curves is NOTHING compared to this class!!!!  I really enjoyed it even though it was total torture ;-)

I can only begin to imagine what I’m going to feel like tomorrow…..LOL!

Memorial Day Weekend

May-26-2007 By Tish

This is the first year in 4-5 years that my group of friends has NOT went camping!  It seems strange but it’s for a great reason.  One of my friends (Mary) son’s (her oldest son) was getting released today - you will have to read her blog to find out what was going on.  So it’s exciting that he is coming home today (they got to pick him up at 9:30AM).  Although I miss the camping experience of this weekend - there’s just something about the Memorial Day Weekend camping trips :-)  We always had exciting, adventurous, interesting trips ;-)

Like the year the guys were being totally annoying and throwing marshmallows at the tent (the sound they make hitting the tent gets ANNOYING and OLD real fast!).

Or the year that it was SO cold we could see our breath in the tent & all us girls had to spoon together for warmth while the guys slept in the camper (now that just goes to show that WOMAN RULE & can handle extreme things! LOL).

Or the year that we were in a place that had no bathrooms so we had to make our own (I’ll spare you the details on that one!).  It was the same year that it was in like the 80’s maybe even low 90’s (and on Memorial Weekend when it’s usually chilly!) and we weren’t anywhere near the vacinity of a lake or somewhere to cool off.  And if all that wasn’t interesting enough, it was the same year that our tents and campers became Tic infested!  But aside from all that, just being with friends around a campfire was the bomb!  It was still fun!  Sure we complained alot about the heat and the tics but we made it fun!  We checked each other frequently to make sure no tics were burrowing down into our skin.  We cut the trip short by one day and vowed to never camp out in the middle of nowhere again but it was by far the most memorable Memorial Weekend camping trip EVER!

And there’s always next year!

It’s HOT!

May-23-2007 By Tish

The past couple days have been H-O-T HOT! I don’t even have my air conditioner in my bedroom yet but it’s on my to do list for this weekend.  And of course by this weekend it’s supposed to cool off….go figure :-)

Caleb has been enjoying the weather - he goes outside the minute he gets home from school and doesn’t come in until it’s time to fill his squirt gun up, eat or go to bed!  And even after being outside for hours on end you would think it’s the end of the world that the kid has to come in!  LOL!

Heres a pic of a squirt gun fight with the next door neighbor’s son (Caleb is the bigger one….lol):

Date Night With Caleb :-)

May-19-2007 By Tish

Caleb and I had a date night last night.  Although don’t mention ‘date’ to him cause he informed me that it was embarassing….LOL!  Kids ;-)  I tried explaining to him that mommy’s and their kids can have date nights but I guess now that he is 8, a date night isn’t all that exciting anymore.

We went to dinner at Applebees and I had the most delicious Weight Watchers meal.  I had steak and shrimp skewers and they were YUMMY!  Caleb had the normal thing that he eats anywhere we go - hamburger.

After dinner we headed to the theater to see Shrek 3.  Thank goodness we got there a bit early because shortly after we arrived they sold out!  I don’t generally go see a movie at the theater opening weekend but he’s been dying to see this so I figured I could do it this time :-)  It was a pretty good movie, lots of adult humor, but man we sat around a huge group of young kids (probably like 6th, 7th graders) that were rude! They were throwing popcorn, swearing, snapping pics on their cell phones, talking on their cell phones and chit chatting amongst each other.  But aside from that, we enjoyed ourselves.

Here’s a couple pics of us before dinner

Relay for Life

May-17-2007 By Tish

I’m thinking about doing a relay for life walk.  I checked around my community and there 3 or 4 events coming up over the summer.  The one here in my community is June 2nd, there is no way I will be ready for that one (because if you remember my walk story you know I had some issues….lol) but there is one towards the end of summer (August) in a town not that far from me.  The end of August gives me plenty of time to prepare and work myself up more in the walking (oh I mean ‘hiking’….lol) department.

I’m taking it one step at a time, no pun intended ;-)  I’ve started walking around my apartment complex and I’m about ready to move past the ‘comfort’ of walking around here and head out a bit farther!

Anyways, back to the relay for life.  Ever since I ‘met’ Heather cancer has been on my mind.  Although I don’t personally know anyone effected by it (although my grandma did just find out that her brother has it) I’d still like to do something that helps raise money for cancer research!

So I think I’ve got my mind made up - I’m gonna participate in the one at the end of the summer!
