Normally I’m a social butterfly. Normally I’m off doing something with friends/family all the time. After the fairly recent dramatic event around here I just haven’t felt like it. Haven’t really wanted to be around people, just kind of wanted to stick to myself and be a home body.

But…now that I’m starting to feel better and am working on things/issues I’m starting to crave that social interaction again and I was just looking at my calendar tonight, setting up next week’s work schedule when I realized I’m kind of busy with social things the next couple weeks.

It started this weekend with the baseball game last night with my sister & her friend. Then today my mom took me out to a movie (we watched Mama Mia…it was so cute! I want it on DVD when it comes out). I enjoyed a nice lazy Friday evening and was planning on doing that today as well but I couldn’t pass up a trip to the movie theater with my mom.

Then comes next weekend, well this coming weekend (July 25th-27th) and taking Caleb camping with my mom & step dad. I was kind of hoping for an out of town camping trip but we are going to Otsego County Park which isn’t even 10 minutes from my apartment. Caleb is really excited and could care less where we go and honestly I could care less too. I’m just excited to finally do the one thing that I love most about summer but haven’t done yet this year. I can already smell the bonfire…love that smell!

Then the following weekend (August 1st-3rd) my best friend B and her hubby and their daughter are coming up so I’ll be staying with her at her parents house. We’ll be heading to her family reunion Saturday afternoon. Then later we’ll be heading over to the Boyne Falls Polish Festival.

The weekend after Polish Festival is relatively quiet with not much of anything going on. Caleb will be home with me that weekend so I probably won’t do much of anything unless we do something with family. The following weekend, Saturday the 16th, is my dad’s wedding.

And somehow in between all that I need to get some friend time in there and visit with Trisha and Mary. Usually throughout the summer we have get togethers at Trisha & Ben’s house for game nights and bonfires. Sometimes we hang out at Mary & Jeff’s, it just depends. I miss the bonfires. There’s nothing better than sitting around with a bunch of friends by a bonfire.

I love the smell of a bonfire and how my clothes and hair smell like it afterwards…weird, I know. But hey I’m not your normal girly girl. In fact I’m not a girly girl at all. I’m totally into t-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, baseball caps and ponytails. Don’t get me wrong I do like to do my hair and makeup once in awhile and look presentable to the world but for the most part I’m super low maintenance! I have to confess I do miss the one thing I used to do on a regular basis – my acrylic nails! One of these days I have to start getting them done again.

It’s nice to think that I’m pretty busy for the rest of the summer. But it also makes me tired thinking about everything I have going on too. LOL
