It Was A Loss But So Much Fun
Despite the rain that delayed the game for a bit it was a blast. The game was exciting! The Beach Bums were behind up until the ninth inning when they scored two runs to tie things up sending it into overtime. After 10 innings they ended up losing 6-4 which was a big bummer but it was still an awesome game. And today I have a hoarse voice from all the yelling I did last night. It was a blast and I’m so glad I went.
It was late by the time the game got over but we still wanted to grab ‘dinner’ regardless of the fact it was a little after 10 by the time we got to Olive Garden. Can I just say that Olive Garden rocks? OMG! I’ve never been to an Olive Garden before and it was awesome. The food was great (I had a chicken alfredo pizza). It wasn’t as expensive as I was expecting it to be either which was a good thing. It’s very reasonably priced.
By the time we got back to my sisters house where my car was parked it was around 11:30 and I still had an hour drive home. When I was almost into Gaylord I was stopped….
Bet you were thinking I was going to say I was pulled over didn’t ya? Nah I was stopped in the road for a bunch of rescue vehicles and fire engines. One of the guys on the last fire engines to stop got out to tell me I needed to take a detour down a bunch of back roads. Ok so I’ve lived here for several years now but when it comes to back roads this girl has NO clue where she’s going.
So I panicked a little and he was like oh it’s easy..you take this road turn left, then go here and make another left and then take a right and then blah blah blah. I just looked at him like he was an alien. He laughed & said you aren’t from around here are you? Then he really laughed when I told him I was. And he got a real kick out of the fact that I said, Ummm I’m just above empty (yeah don’t ask…I didn’t think about getting gas before I left my sisters house & headed back home. I was still thinking about all those butts we saw in uniform for the past couple hours…just kidding. Maybe. LOL) so that’s my biggest concern at the moment. He was like that’s not good and I can’t allow anyone through the main route we have a tanker on it’s side (kind of wonder what the tanker was carrying…I’m assuming probably gas but who knows).
There were a couple cars that went around me so he was like you can just follow them I’m sure they are going into Gaylord. And he told me good luck. Umm gee thanks. It’s now after Midnight, I’m barely above empty and I’m about to head down back roads in the middle of nowhere and I have no clue where the heck I’m going. Thankfully the back roads really weren’t that long of a detour and I made it home. I’m pretty sure I coasted into my parking space on fumes. (Note to self: always make sure you check your gas gage before heading out…anywhere!)
I was exhausted by the time I got home. It was almost 1:30am. I had a sore throat and a headache. My clothes were still damp from when it rained and sitting in wet seats. So I headed to bed.
Here’s a slideshow of a few pictures from last night:

Great pictures! Glad you had a good time and made it home safely.
