I’ve Been Tagged

May 27

My friend Heather over at Desperately Seeking Sanity tagged me to play along. And seems how you all know how much I like being tagged I just had to play along! Plus I wouldn’t want to disappoint Heather now would I? :-) Actually I like being tagged to play along, I’m a dork like that.

Favorite person (outside family)?
My best friend. Even though we’ve had our ups and downs and she’s hurt me & I’ve hurt her, she’s still my favorite person. We’ve been best friends since 1991 and we’ve literally been through EVERYTHING together – the good, the bad and the ugly.

Favorite food?
Chinese popped into my head but I haven’t had it in so long that I guess that would scratch that thought. Then I thought Mexican but I think seafood beats out Mexican. And actually the only seafood I eat is shrimp so that really wouldn’t be the whole ‘class’ of seafood. I guess I don’t know.

Quirks about you?
LOL what kind of question is this? Jeez where to start…well everyone knows the issue I have with bread crumbs in my butter but I’ll mention it again because it annoys me to no end (although I did open the butter today to see that my darling son left a bunch of bread crumbs in there last night when he made peanut butter & jelly and I was surprised to see that it didn’t bug me all that much & I actually used the ‘clean’ part of the butter & left the crumbs there! Shocking I know!).

The toilet paper. This has also been mentioned before but it’s worth mentioning again ;-) The TP has to be put on the holder so that when you pull it, it rolls from the top instead of the bottom (did that make any sense?).

Then there is laundry. I have a certain way I fold my towels & wash cloths. I also have a specific way that I fold under garments, t-shirts, etc.

Man now that I’ve looked back on this question & read my answers – I think I’m a bit on the anal side! Jeez!

How would the person who loves you most describe you in ten words or less?
emotional, cries easily, stubborn, goofy, smart, reliable,

Any regrets in life?
Yes but I’m pretty sure we all have regrets.

Favorite Charity/ Cause?
Any that have anything to do with children (make a wish foundation, etc).
American Breast Cancer Foundation.
I recently heard about Adopt a Soldier and I think this is an awesome cause! There are so many military people that don’t get any mail/care packages & adopt a soldier is the perfect way to let them know that they are being thought about and appreciated for what they are doing!

Favorite Blog recently?
Ummm honestly I can’t answer this. I don’t know. I just don’t want to have to choose one so I’m not going to (guess that would be some of my stubbornness coming out).

Something you can’t get enough of? I’m with Heather on this one – comments! I love comments. Comments make me happy (and just imagine how happy I’d be if my boyfriend left me comments…LOL! And seems how all us ladies now know he reads my blog that was a blatant hint to him to comment!). Music – I love music. Music makes me happy and I can’t ever get enough of it. Books. I’m a book worm…or I used to be a book worm. I haven’t made much time for reading lately.

Worst job you’ve ever had?
I honestly haven’t ever had a super horrible job! I’ve always liked my jobs. Ok wait – scratch that! I forgot that I did a telemarketing job for a day. I couldn’t stand it! I absolutely hated everything about it and after my 8 hour shift was up I never came back. I don’t know how people can work as telemarketers – it just plain ole sucks!

What job would you pay NOT to have?
Telemarketing. The memories of those horrendous 8 hours I spent cold calling people gives me shivers. YUCK! No way no how would I EVER go back to doing something like that!

If you could be a fly on the wall, where?
Interesting question. I’ll have to come back to this one cause I can’t think of an answer off the top of my head.

Favorite Bible verse right now?
Jeremiah 29:11 is always my favorite verse. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Guilty Pleasure?
Soap Operas…or soap opera I should say seems how I only watch one. I’m still watching Days of Our Lives after all these years (I started watching when I was in high school).

Got any confessions?
Don’t we all?

If you HAD to spend $1,000 on YOURSELF, how would you spend it?

A laptop would be the first thing I spent money on! Get my hair done (cut, color, highlights – the whole shebang!) new clothes, new shoes, new sunglasses, new purse, new watch. I certainly wouldn’t have a problem finding stuff to spend money on.

Favorite thing about your house?

I don’t have a house – I live in an apartment. My favorite thing about it is that if something breaks, the maintenance man has to fix it and I don’t have to worry about paying for it.

Least favorite thing about your house?
I could seriously write a book for this question! The weirdos that live here & get a kick out of stealing women’s undergarments (it still makes me sick thinking about all my undies & camisoles that got stolen a couple summers ago….EEEEEWWWWW!). The fact that the cops are here on a regular basis now-a-days. The annoying neighbors (the one neighbor that is normal & we get along very well is moving June 12th & I’m dreading seeing her & her son go – dang her for having to go and get engaged! LOL). Not having a washer/dryer in my apartment. Not having central air (oh man I’d be in 7th heaven if I had central air) & only being allowed to have a window unit in certain parts of the apartment (my bedroom for instance). Limited storage space. Thin thin thin walls!

One thing you are bad at?
Hiding my emotions. No matter how hard I try you know when I’m upset, happy, sad, angry, etc. I’ve always worn them on my sleeve and I probably always will. I hate the fact that I can’t hide my emotions. Sometimes I just don’t want them to show but it’s like the harder I try to ‘hide’ them the more they come out (if that makes any sense).

One thing you’re good at?
Cleaning.

If you could change something about your circumstances, what?
I would have a reliable car! One that didn’t break down every time I turned around. One that had air conditioning. One that had less than 100,000 miles on it. One that I could actually take a road trip with!

Who would you like to meet someday?
All of my online friends. As far as ‘famous’ people go – NKOTB (New Kids on the Block), Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Adam Sandler, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Carrie Underwood, Brad Pitt, Matthew McConaughey (hello hottie!), Placido Polanco (Tigers 2nd baseman), Josh Beckett (Red Sox pitcher) and lots more.

What makes you feel sexy?
Let’s see…I guess the whole doing my hair & make-up can make me feel sexy. I’m usually all about pulling my hair up in a pony tail or throwing a baseball cap on so when I take the time to do my hair & make-up it can make me feel sexy in a way. Having professional pictures taken by my sis-in-law. I know that sounds silly but there’s just something about a professional photographer putting me in poses and having fun that makes me feel sexy. That’s just a couple things, I’ll skip the others.

Who is your real life hero?
I’ve had many people touch my life in a way that made them a ‘hero’ in some sort of way. But then I stop and think about all the men and women fighting for our country and I have to say that each and every one of them deserves to be considered a hero too. They give up so many things to stand up for what they believe in and to fight for our freedom. I don’t know how they do it – leaving behind their families, their friends, never knowing whether they’ll come back home or not. That’s what I think of when I think of someone that is selfless – our soldiers and that to me is a true hero.

What is the hardest part of your job?
Staying focused & not letting everything around me distract me. When you work at home there is tons of stuff that can easily distract you!

When are you most relaxed?
Relaxed, what’s that? Seriously! I don’t know when I’m most relaxed. It’s hard for me to relax. I always feel guilty if I’m having a ‘veg’ out day doing nothing. I feel like I should always be doing something.

What stresses you out?
Definitely finances and my car! Seth being in Iraq.

What can you not live without?
Faith. It keeps me going even when I feel like I can’t keep going.

Do you agree or disagree with the recent article that reported that blogs are authored by narcissists?

I didn’t know that there was even an article posted about this. And I have to say that I actually had to look up the word narcissist because I wasn’t entirely sure what it was! I don’t know about everyone else out there blogging but I didn’t start my blog because I wanted it to be all about me me me. I started it because I needed somewhere to vent my frustrations, somewhere to just speak my mind. It was in no way started because I’m self-centered, smug or egotistical that’s for sure (and just for the record I’m pretty sure that I’m not any of those things).

Why do you blog?
Because I like having a place to vent about life in general. I like being able to speak my mind. I like being able to talk about whatever I feel like talking about. I like the interaction with others. Because I like doing it.

And now I’m supposed to tag people. I hate this part about all blog memes and I always tend to not follow directions when it comes to this part so guess what? I’m rebelling once again and not tagging anyone! If you want to play along, please do so. Leave me a comment so I know you are doing it.
