This is Why I DON’T Cook!

I’ve never hid the fact that I’m no Martha Stewart or Rachael Ray when it comes to the kitchen. Back in Gaylord I was involved in a program where a lady was coming into my house to give me cooking lessons and I was oh so excited. She came to my apartment but I moved before we ever actually got to the cooking part. She went over lots of things with me like the difference between dry measuring and liquid measuring and this-n-that.

So anyways…take a look at the picture below and tell me you understand now why I DON’T cook!

burnt toast

And for those of you that have been reading my blog long enough to know about my pet peeve with bread crumbs in the butter…can you imagine if I wanted to eat BURNT toast how many CRUMBS that would leave in my butter? The mere thought of that makes me shiver. YUCK.

Oh but Tishia, that is my favorite way to eat bread. BURNT! Love it (and pretty much anything else burnt I love). I know it’s not good for me but oh well. As for the butter, I only use spray so it works perfectly and no messy crumbs to deal with. I’ll eat your burnt toast anytime.

I’m a really good cook, and I burn toast more often than I care to admit. Enough with the excuses! Get cooking!

    LOL

Find some tutorials online. But an easy cookbook. Just get started. You’ll get the hang of it eventually.

Angie I don’t know how in the world you can eat burnt toast….YUCK! LOL I can’t stand the smell of it let alone the taste of it.

Shannon – You need to make a trip to Michigan and give me some cooking lessons ;-) And I’m oh so disappointed you didn’t even make mention of my bread crumb thing! ROFLMAO!

Don’t fret Tishia Lee, it’s nothin’ that a good old fashoned butter knife can’t cure. lol

LOL! Yep, that’s some burnt toast right there!

You know, you can take a butter knife and scrape the burned layer right off? I never knew that till my MIL did it one day … she was a great cook but well known for just killin’ a piece of bread!

Allison – Somehow I missed your post. Sorry it took so long for me to comment back! I couldn’t do the butter knife thing and scrape the burnt stuff off because I wouldn’t be able to handle the sound of the knife scrapping against the burnt stuff…gives me shivers just thinking about it.

Erin – I missed your comment too. Yep it was definitely burnt! LOL

Julie – From the comments it appears that burning toast is something a lot of people do – even great cooks. So that makes me feel a little better! LOL
