Wonder Years Radio - Teaching Your Child Organization
I’ve always been a bit of a pack rat (well until I moved about 3 1/2 years ago into an apartment that has NO storage!) so I guess it’s no surprise that my son is wired that way too.
Who ever knew that elementary students would bring home so many really cool, have to keep projects? I feel bad because so often I go behind my son and pitch things. He generally doesn’t know that I’ve pitched something unless he catches me as I’m in the process of doing it. LOL.
Christina Lemmey of Wonder Year’s Radio provided just the answers I needed for the paper clutter/pack rat problem. Christina interviewed Cara Mirabella, of The Household Helper. The discussion amongst Christina & Cara was not only helpful but it was inspiring!
From here on out I’m going to let Caleb help me choose the projects he wants to save. I’m going to pick a number that he’s allowed to keep and then he’s going to have to work out the process of learning the responsibility of being organized.
Projects that Caleb makes and he feels are special enough to keep can also be used to pass on to grandma and grandpa. What grandparent doesn’t love a handmade project by their grandchild?
Great show!
The battle has begun! I’m in it to win it. Kelly McCausey has started a war amongst the WAHM blog world and I’m not against pulling hair and scratching to get my hands on that chocolate!!!!

Oh my 10 yo is just like that and yes, I’m guilty of going behind his back and pitching them.
Guess I need to listen to Wonder Year’s Radio hu?
btw…you are in it to win it…check out all those posts already and it’s not even 8 am EST!! Go Tishia Go!
Thanks for the shout out, Tishia!
