7 Random or Weird Facts About Me

Nov-19-2008 By Tish

PhotobucketAnyone that knows me knows that I love being tagged. Thanks to Erin over at Beading Mom (be sure you check out her jewelry by the way - it’s cute!) for tagging me to play along on this little meme. And what a fun one :-)

The meme is to share 7 random or weird facts about myself. Hehehe this won’t be hard!

  1. My mother named me after a dog! I still wonder to this day whether that’s a true fact or just something I was told. Either way - it’s scared me for life!
  2. Don’t leave bread crumbs in my butter. I repeat DO NOT leave bread crumbs in my butter. It grosses me out.
  3. I love dipping nacho cheese flavored Doritos in tuna fish. Hey don’t knock it till ya try it!
  4. I LOVE cleaning. Not just like but love. Even as a teen I was neat and tidy.
  5. I don’t ‘get’ jokes a lot when they are told. I’ll laugh like I got it but it usually doesn’t ’sink’ in until later and that’s when I’ll bust out laughing.
  6. I’m a total non girly girl. I’m all about baseball caps, no make-up, jeans, t-shirts. But don’t take my acrylic nails away cause then I’ll get mean ;-)
  7. I hate feet. I don’t like mine being touched. Feet are gross. They remind me of fungus or something.

Ok so there ya have it. 7 weird things about me. Of course my list could go on and on cause well I’m just a weird person.

So let’s see….who shall I pick as my victims?

And anyone else that wants to play along because I can’t think of anyone else to tag that hasn’t already been tagged by Erin.

For picking my step dad and mom as one of your 10 lucky couples for your KLT’s Most Excellent Wedding event on December 13th, 2008 at Leelanau Sands Casino.

My mom and step dad have been married for….uhm geesh I don’t even know. A really long time anyways. And they never had a ‘real’ wedding or wedding reception. It was a justice of the peace wedding and I honestly don’t think they even had any sort of reception but they might of had a small get together with family. So it was kind of cool that after my step dad entered the contest that they were chose as one of the couples!

It’s going to be like the wedding they never had. There will be a ceremony followed by dinner and dancing! It’s gonna be a blast and I can’t wait to have a night out. Especially after the recent events with my crummy car. But I’m kind of excited too because I’ll have a date. Yes a date.

Bet ya’ll are wondering how that came about :-)

Remember me talking about Melissa & Ryan? The couple that are on The Today Show and competing in the Race to the Altar segment of the show? No. You don’t remember? Shame on you. LOL That means you’ll have to go back and read this post to hear the whole story (you really should read it because it’s an awesome story behind their relationship and how they met. I of course am a bit biased considering it was like Deja Vu reading their story because it’s so similar to Seth and I).

Anyways…they are now in the top 2 for the Race to the Altar on TV’s The Today Show! I once again need your help! Please please please vote for them. It only takes a second & a couple clicks of your mouse! Simply visit The Today’s Show website and you will see a little logo on the top of the page that says Race to the Altar, vote here. Click the link & wait for the top portion of the page to load & then you’ll see the 2 couples left. Melissa & Ryan are couple 1. Mark the little box under their name & then click vote. Another little box will pop up asking if you are sure you want to vote for them. It’s that simple! You can also text your vote by texting the number 1 to the number 46833.

Thank you :-)

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Jan-21-2008 By Tish

I’ve certainly been getting some American history lessons over the last week.  First with politics and now with Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

I never paid attention in government or history class so what a surprise that I’m 32 and know nothing about presidential elections, what the different terms mean (democrat, republican, etc) but the really sad thing is that today was the first time I heard Martin Luther King’s I have a Dream speech!  That is so sad that I’m just learning about it now!!! It gave me goose bumps and I spent a lot of time wiping away tears.  What a major part of history he had and I know so little about it all.

So on my to do list for this week is the democrat/republican homework that Kelly ‘assigned’ me on Mom’s Morning Show last week and to read up some more on Marting Luther King Jr.
