Five Minute Friday – Perspective

I don’t remember how I even came across this blog/post but I loved the meme that they do every Friday and decided seems how my blog isn’t getting any lovin from me that this would be a perfect way to at least post once a week! I mean I can take five minutes to do this and that’s all they require is five minutes!

The way this Five minute Friday works is that every Friday you are given a word and you literally just write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.

So, here we go…this week’s word is:

PERSPECTIVE

GO

I’m not sure what to write about perspective. I know what it means or at least I think I know what it means. lol

My apartment is small but cool. I love all the windows except in the winter when it’s cold and my landlord puts plastic on them – whoever thought plastic really keeps cold air out in the first place? Because it doesn’t. Not in my experience anyway.

The few things I don’t like about my apartment – the bathroom is too small. Seriously I feel like I’m sitting in a box when I’m in there. Good thing I don’t spend too much time in there!

My cat is getting fat. Maybe I should put him on a diet? Seriously he has some fat hanging off his sides!

I’m too fat. Maybe my cat gets that from me? I know I shouldn’t say things like that about myself but it’s true.

The birds are really chirping outside my office window right now and sometimes I like their noise and other times (now would be one of those times) it gets on my nerves.

Hmmm you would think that five minutes is really that long but it kind of is. At least I think it is. Or at least it feels like it right now because I’m not sure what to say.

Maybe this will get easier the more I do it.

Five minutes isn’t up yet?

It’s Friday – obviously from the title of the post it’s Friday – and I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend. It’s been a long work week.

I hear the ticker of my kitchen timer slowing down to a crawl so I think it’s going to ding real soon. Oh please hurry. These five minutes need to be over…

STOP

Hahaha! That cracked me up. Five minutes really is longer than it seems at first, isnt it? Today I only wrote for 3. Another thing I love about Five Minute Friday… it’s flexible around here. :) So glad you decided to join in. It keeps me writing more regularly too. Nice to meet you Tishia Lee.

Hi Stacy! Thanks for commenting. lol yes five minutes certainly is longer than it seems! By the way I just commented on your post but I’ll say it here too – I love what you wrote!

I didn’t even use my full 5 minutes. LOL. My cat is fat too. And he is SUCH a food beggar.

My bathroom is small and we do the plastic on the windows too, just because someone else said it works. I am with you, I don’t know that it does. The first year we used it, my husband and I got into an argument over it!

    Memories!

Hi Amy! Nice to “meet” you :-) Thank you for commenting. Don’t you just love small bathrooms? NOT! lol I absolutely love everything else about my apartment (I have a sunroom I’ve always wanted and a built in bookshelf in the living room wall – both things I’ve always dreamed of having) so when I loved everything else I couldn’t let the small bathroom be a deal breaker. God opened so many doors to get me here in this town to be with my son (who moved in with his dad and step mom) and He opened the door to this apartment too so I knew it was meant for me…small bathroom and all :-)

Yep, my cat is a food beggar too! It’s weird – whenever I go to make breakfast. lunch, dinner, get a snack he is right there running to his food dish! lol

And I’m not doing plastic this winter (next winter)…well I guess if my landlord comes to do it I have no choice.

  4. An organic and entertaining post. :) I like it! You’re right it’s great to just write and have an excuse to post at least weekly. :)

I’ve had one of those mini bathrooms before. Fun to remember.
